The earthquake this week was my first, and although there was no major damage it left me a little shook up. Trying to reach loved ones with phone lines down, and cell phones jammed was really frustrating...and the complete lack of preparedness of the agency I work for was unacceptable. I can't imagine what DC would have looked like had there been major damages and needed evacuation. Scary.
Irene, I have to admit, gave me an excuse to do absolutely nothing this weekend and I really enjoyed it. School has begun again, and although I love learning it can be overwhelming with full time work and balancing some semblance of a social life.
This coming week is a short week, as we're going to NY, Niagara Falls, and Toronto over Labor Day weekend. I'm really looking forward to our last excursion before Fall/Winter, but a little bummed that there isn't anything else exciting in the queue and already anxious to start planning something else!!
